The NYC Housing Lottery at the moment doesn’t look terrific for artists. The clouds are there and we are filming them, but looking to the heavens doesn’t seem to change our circumstance. Why is that? The Pandemic? Could be. There are other life and death problems that are focused on leaving us creative types in the lurch.
So what is the solution? If an artist is living a marginal life with virtually no income, there is a chance she or he has access to programs that are meant for low income individuals.
All the rest of us who are on artistic paths must carry on with our work to help the people. Helping others is our lot in life, which is a good thing since we are fortunate to not have the worries of those who do not have much.
The KEY to living outside of the city as in this image, is to do a digital analysis of what you do creatively.
Outside of the Metropolis
Chances are you have considered going outside of the city with your artist housing. You may have even looked at places but couldn’t get over wanting to be directly in Manhattan. If you’re like me, even with everything that is going on, the Big Apple is my choice and only choice. But as I analyze the situation I begin to be able to see myself outside of the metropolis. Why now? Because of what is going on in America and our fine cities throughout the U.S. To combat the confusion, explore digital like at DIYdigi.com. Even giving this though. the revolution is something to not take lightly.
Opening Doors
Let’s face it. There is a revolution happening. And in some ways it is a war zone with two sides. This makes your city our ours a less desirable place to be. Even if you believe in one side of the battle, you will clearly have problems getting anyone to come to your creative business or open the doors for you as an artist.
Take a Stab On the “Outside”
So the big question is, can you undergo digital transformation. If yes, then it would be easier to be outside of your favorite city. Also, there’s still not a lot happening out there in terms of business. What is digital transformation? A simple way to think about it, although there’s more to it, is to ask yourself what components of what you do can be done digitally? The more that you can do digitally, the bigger your chances of succeeding even though living outside of Manhattan or wherever you live.
It’s hard enough being an artist seeking housing in a big city, but it is even tougher being a creative individual during a metropolis pandemic.
Better Times?
Our hearts go out to all practitioners of expression in these unusual days. People are losing work everywhere but especially in the case of those who have been bitten by a dream and were finding it hard enough acquiring shelter in so-called better times.
Temporary Solutions?
Our hope is that you won’t give up. But if you’ve had to leave the city for survival reasons we understand. Those of you who have left we hope to see you again soon. Peace be with you.
